Privacy Policy

About this policy

At Red Hot Trades, we take your privacy seriously. This policy sets out what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we store and protect it when you visit our website, respond to one of our ads, or use our services.

Red Hot Trades is a trading name of REDHOTTRADESLTD, registered in England and Wales (company number 17413898), registered office 48 Common Road , KT10 0HJ , Claygate , Surrey . We are responsible for your personal data as the data controller, except where we handle lead data on behalf of our clients (see Advertising, Meta platforms and lead data below).

We are a marketing agency for trade businesses, including electricians, plumbers, builders, roofers and scaffolders. We run advertising campaigns for them, mainly on Facebook and Instagram.

We follow the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Information we collect

We may collect your:

  • name, business name and trade
  • email address and phone number
  • location or service area
  • answers you give in our lead funnels and surveys
  • IP address, device and browser details, and how you use our website

We collect this when you:

  • fill in a form or funnel on our website
  • complete a lead form on Facebook or Instagram
  • click on or interact with our ads
  • speak to us by phone, email or on a call
  • browse our website (through cookies, where you have agreed to them)

We only collect what we genuinely need, and we never ask for sensitive information such as health details.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and arrange calls
  • deliver our services if you become a client
  • run, measure and improve advertising campaigns
  • understand how people use our website
  • send you marketing, where the law allows it

We rely on these lawful bases under UK GDPR: consent (for marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel and some marketing emails), contract (to deliver our services), legal obligation (for tax and accounting records) and legitimate interests (for responding to enquiries, B2B marketing and keeping our site secure). You can object to any use based on legitimate interests.

Advertising, Meta platforms and lead data

We run ads on Facebook and Instagram for our own business and for trade businesses we work with.

If you respond to an ad for one of our clients (for example, enquiring about a rewire or an extension), your details are collected through Meta’s lead forms or our funnels and passed to that trade business so they can contact you. The trade business is the data controller for your information and is responsible for its own privacy policy. We handle your data only on their behalf, as a data processor, and only to deliver their campaign.

If you respond to one of our own ads (for example, as a trade business interested in our services), we are the data controller and this policy applies in full.

Meta may also act as an independent or joint controller for some data collected on its platforms. You can see how Meta uses your data, and control the ads you see, in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

Cookies, tracking and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools, including the Meta Pixel and [Google Analytics], to see how our ads and website perform, understand how visitors use the site, and show relevant ads to people who have visited us.

These tools may collect your IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with our pages and ads.

Analytics and advertising cookies only run if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or block cookies in your browser. Full details are in our [Cookie Policy].

Sharing, storage and security

We never sell or rent your personal data.

We only share it when we need to, with trusted providers that help us run our business. These include our lead funnel and email platform (Perspective), advertising and analytics providers (Meta and [Google]), our payment provider (Stripe), our website host, and freelance video editors who work on client content. Everyone we share data with must keep it secure and follow data protection law.

We protect your data with sensible technical and organisational measures, including secure (HTTPS) connections, two-factor authentication and limiting access to people who need it.

Some of our providers and freelancers are based outside the UK. When your data is transferred abroad, we make sure it stays protected, for example by using countries the UK recognises as having adequate protection, or the UK’s approved data transfer agreements.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within [24 months] of last contact. Client and financial records are kept for 6 years to meet tax and legal requirements.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can:

  • ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your data
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your data, or object to how we use it
  • ask for your data in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent, including to marketing, at any time

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can simply ask us to stop. To use any of your rights, email [info@redhottrades.co.uk]. We will reply within one month.
